As stated by “John Adams”:
“The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable era in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of the continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”
Congress approved its Declaration of Independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776. As John Adams predicted, Independence Day has been celebrated from the outset. July 4th–It took an additional two days for the predication to come true. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! John Adams gave good advice that this day should be celebrated with pomp, parades, shows, games, bells, bonfires and of course fireworks. Have a safe 4th of July.
